Natural Balanced Interior Design, Inc.

Natural Balanced Interior Design is a full service interior design firm based in Los Gatos, California focusing on residential and small commercial interiors.

We bring in depth knowledge to your project, - from design concepts to ergonomics, from lighting design to practical construction practices. We believe design is not just a matter of taste, but has a lot of science to it as well.  Functionality is the key for every design project we undertake.

We supply the client or the contractor with full construction documents for remodels or additions and when desired, we manage the execution of the project too. This is a service that distinguishes us from other interior design companies since we combine both design and execution of the project. During construction our design expertise (we are licensed general contractors) is closely related to the results of the project by being closely involved in every single little detail. We make sure that the final product is to your satisfaction.

In large projects we work very closely with Richwood Development, builders of custom homes, on the interior of the houses and on outside designs. For example, the first LEED house in Los Gatos was completed in 2007 with Richwood Development. Throughout the years we have maintained long established relationships with our clients, vendors and contractors resulting in repeat business. Maaike Linnenkamp - Principal

Maaike Linnenkamp is the Principal of NBI Design. She founded her company in 2002 with the mission to make good interior design more broadly accessible. Her clients range from retired couples to families with children, from writers to Silicon Valley executives.

Maaike graduated from West Valley College with a four year degree in Interior Design. She holds NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer, Licensed General Contractor, and Green Building Professional designations and maintains memberships with the US Green Building Council and the California Build It Green initiative.

Maaike brings to her engagements her international background being born and raised in Europe, her years of study in the UK and Holland, and her experience working for multinationals in Germany, Holland, UK, France, and the USA.

You can rest assured that our commitment to you is two-fold: absolute focus on your project and no delegation of tasks, relationships, or any critical aspect of the engagement's design and project management.

This is not to say that Maaike works by herself. Either in partnership with other development companies or with her highly respected and experienced crew of contractors she can ensure that the end result is to your satisfaction.
